Fluctuation in a Multi-regional Economic Network Model with Community Structure

The multi-regional economic network model has recently been constructed to describe open economic systems and to study the strength of fluctuation in open economic systems. While our previous studies focused on a completely connected topology, here we address a topology with a community structure. We find that in such a economic network with the community structure, an open system suffers more fluctuations if it has a positive trade balance. In contrast, the open system enjoys less fluctuation, if the open system has a negative trade balance.
