Abstract :
Locomotion is the basic part of human behavior, but it is hard to generate the film quality animation because of its delicate characteristics. Although Motion blending method is widely used in locomotion animation, it is slightly different from real human\´s behavior, which can be only used in a long shot of the film. This paper shows the useful method to make film quality crowd locomotion animation using two-phase simulation, which can be used in a close shot. We firstly show how to capture the motion data using locomotion data\´s feature. Secondly, we explain how to make seamless locomotion animation by connecting motion capture data. We use two phase method which consists of position tracking phase and motion connecting phase. Finally we show how to use our method in the real Korean movie film, "Joong-Chun".
