Abstract :
The authors describe a family of broadcast protocols for use in fault-tolerant distributed systems. They primarily consider protocols that are reliable in the presence of halting failures, whereby a process stops executing without performing any incorrect actions. The protocols are delivery ordering specific and have varying cost and performance depending on the degree of ordering desired. The performance characteristics of the protocols are discussed and the results of the simulations are expected to comply with it
