Abstract :
A boost converter which employs an isolated active snubber to reduce the losses caused by the reverse-recovery characteristic of the boost rectifier and the turn-on discharge loss of the output capacitance of the boost switch is described. The proposed isolated active snubber consists of a coupled inductor, clamp capacitor, and ground-referenced N-type MOSFET. The performance of the proposed converter is evaluated on an 1-kW, universal-line-range, boost input-current shaper
