Abstract :
This paper presents the product safety assessment scheme using Hazard base approach. We have abstracted hazard energy sources from the database of incident, and applied the hazard energy sources to FTA structure as the elements of sub-layer of top event. By calculating the reliability of safety components and safeguards, we derive the safety merits of a product over its service period. The scheme is used for achieving the standard merit of product safety for consumer electric appliances.
