Abstract
According to the unbalanced regional economic development in China, this paper applied dynamic econometrics to research on the innovation output elasticity of each region. Select patent applications and GDP as the index of innovation output and economic growth, and there exists dynamic relationship between them. Based on the model of Polynomial Distributed Lags (PDLs), the results show that, in china innovation had a significant role in promoting economic growth, and the driving force reached peak in middle term. The total innovation output elasticity is different among eastern, middle and western region. Also there exists great innovation potential in western region, the government should give more support to western region.
