Abstract :
A new innovative approach for facilitating the design of analog control systems is presented. In all classical linear control system design procedures, analysts must have access to reasonable transfer functions of physical components in order to achieve successful designs. A technique based on speed control system concepts is presented whereby an analyst can determine analog servomotor transfer functions with one simple laboratory procedure. Since other system component transfer functions are generally known or easy to obtain, the simplified evaluation of this key component transfer function permits the design of many control systems to proceed with a minimal effort
