Abstract :
This survey reports on motive power developments for the previous year ending August 1997. Invitations to participate were sent to a large number of locomotive builders throughout the world. Although the response was limited, railway industry trade journals and other rail magazines provided additional input. General information is presented on five diesel locomotives and six electric locomotives
