  • Abstract
Auto focus actuator, which is used to move a lens module, and mechanical shutter, which is used to adjust a focal length and the intensity of light, using in the camera module are developed. Camera module containing auto focus actuator and mechanical shutter requires minimization of total size because of application area such as mobile phone, digital camera, and personal digital assistant. In this paper, auto focus actuator and mechanical shutter having new electromagnetic configuration is proposed. The size of the developed actuator is reduced to 67.3% and developed mechanical shutter is reduced to 34% compared with system using previous electromagnetic configuration. From the performance test, the developed auto focus actuator has moving stroke of 0.64 mm, hysteresis of 20 mum, settling time of 20 msec , and unit step motion of 10 mum and the developed mechanical shutter has F number from 2.8 to prop, shutter speed of under 1/400 sec, and iris of 5 sector, respectively.
