Abstract
Based on a strict solution of the problem of thin wire antenna radiation, the spatial distribution of vector components and electromagnetic field power has been investigated. It has been shown that the radiation theory, worked out for a Hertz dipole, is applicable for wire antennas with length up to 0.02 /spl lambda/. Such antennas have a far zone distance of 0.5 /spl lambda/.
