Abstract
This paper proposed an object tracking system based on direction of arrival estimation method. The microphone array technique is applied to estimate the direction of the target person and the camera with a pan/tilter is turned to the person or sound source. The beamforming parameters are applied to the sound received by the microphone array for all of the potential locations and data is gathered for each beam. The most likely location is then determined by comparing the data from each beam. Once the location is determined, a camera is directed toward this source. Evaluation is performed under different environments. We confirmed that the direction of the sound could be detected.
