Abstract :
A new mathematical model of dual-reflector omnidirectional antennas, that allows simulating the influence of various cylindrical dielectric insertions on the electric characteristics, has previously been developed. In this paper, a dual-reflector omnidirectional antenna with parabolic sub-reflector, conic main reflector and TM01 mode feed (operating frequencies 27.5-29.5 GHz) illustrates the selection of an optimal dielectric insertion. This is of great importance when designing a dual-reflector omnidirectional antenna for millimeter wave applications.
