Abstract :
In order to describe the extreme dependence structure of the two relief factors of debris flow of drainage area and drainage height difference, this paper studies the threshold selecting methods based on the mean residual life plot. The paper gets an accurate bivariate exceedance model which can better fit to the dependence structure of the data than the past works. The parameters in the model are calculated to get a specific joint distribution function and two marginal distribution functions, accordingly which give some extreme events probabilities.
