Abstract :
One of the major challenges of electronic warfare (EW) systems is to sense a very wide spectrum in real time. In this paper we first of all show that the use of the recently proposed compressive sensing (CS) schemes reduces the load on acquisition for EW spectrum. Secondly we propose a modified CS scheme, which we call selective spectrum sensing, which is shown to further improve signal estimation for spectrum sensing. The proposed scheme leverage´s on the a priori knowledge of the frequency bands of interest and is shown to perform efficiently under severe signal to noise ratio (SNR) conditions.
