Abstract
A solid freeform fabrication system (SFFS) can quickly make models and prototype parts from three dimension computer-aided designs (CAD) data. For printing in the SFF system, three dimensional model of STL format is made from slicing data. The slicing data gives the identification number of each object in each layer. And the form of the information consists of point data. A printing type needs a raw file to jet at the required position. The created raw file is transferred to the print head through the pattern driver. In this paper, the pattern driver is developed for patterning 3D solid freeform. And the slicing bitmap is expressed by means of the man machine interface (MMI). As a result, we successfully achieved a various 3D SFF experiments using developed SFFS.
