  • Abstract
To study the effects of infrared therapy and the changes of expression of HSP70 on the experimental chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), we made the model of CAG and irradiated. The CAG model in rats was made by pouring medicine which was a kind of mixed liquor including 2% sodium salicylate and 30% alcohol down the throat for 8 weeks to stimulate the rat´s gastric mucosa, combining with irregular fasting and compulsive sporting as pathogenic factors. Infrared (220V, 200W) was used for the treatment on CAG in rats. The gastric acid, the histopathological changes and the thickness of mucosa were observed, the expressions of HSP70 were detected by immun-histochemical technique. We found follows through this experiment: in model control group, the weight of rat´s body was significantly lighter (P<;0.01), morphological changes in gastric mucosa such as thinner mucous, atrophic glands, notable inflammatory infiltration was found. Parts glands were mucous metaplasia. After the irradiation of infrared rays for 20 days, the secretes of gastric acid was increased, the thickness of gastric mucosa was significantly thicker than that in model control group (P<;0.01), morphologic, structure and volume of the parietal cells were all recuperated or closed to normal. The expression of HSP70 was higher. From this experiment, we draw the conclusion: Infrared ray has some biological functions such as promote and ameliorate microcirculation, stimulate immune system, dephlogisticate and the hyperplasia of parietal cell, antiinflammation and analgecize. It was very important for the treatment of CAG, stimulated the functional rehabilitation and anesis, the cells of gastric mucosa was hyperplasia and enzyme amplification. The expression of HSP70 showed that HSP had a certain defend action. Infrared therapy is worth to be applied and generalized in clinic.
