Abstract
Describes a new method of radar distance measurement by means of defining the dependence of frequency on a difference in the complete phase between the radiated and the received signals (phase-frequency response-PFR). For the measurement of PFR a system of automatic frequency control (AFC) of the transmitter generator on a given phase difference of signals is used. A slope of the linear term and the period of harmonic terms in the periodic component of PFR is defined by the distances between the main reflecting object and the meter and between the main and other reflecting objects respectively.
