Abstract :
Sequences of mcyJ gene of 62 Microcystis strains from different locality, and one Anabaena strain, two Planktothrix agardhii strains were analyzed. The phylogenetic tree of mcyJ was constructed. The result showed that the variation of mcyJ genotype in Microcystis had no relationship with its locality or species; genetic distance of mcyJ between Microcystis and Anabaena, Planktothrix agardhii was obvious. The highly conserved region of mcyJ was found by BLAST and would be used for identification of microcystin-producing Microcystis without needing any other molecular markers, which would simplify the procedure for identification of microcystin-producing Microcystis.
