  • Abstract
The utilization of land data transmission link is problematic, since it cannot provide high-speed high-quality channels. A feasible solution for this problem lies in the deployment of access networks using satellite communication channels. Small VSAT-type stations form the basis for the existing and developing land links of satellite communication systems (SCS). The implementation of new technologies and state-of-the-art techniques for data processing and transfer provides high-speed access for VSAT subscribers is proposed. A VSAT consists of antenna and RF equipment (frequency converters, low-noise amplifiers, power amplifiers) in the outdoor unit and an interface with the common-access land channels and Modem in the indoor unit. Satellite link efficiency depends on modulation and the type of Modem determine the coding technique. The estimation of VSAT hardware is presented.
