Abstract :
A possibility of setting up a single-band frequency-hopping modulator-based cable TV head-end station is considered. As opposed to the available DALVI or CRYPTON scrambling systems, frequency-hopping carrier-based scrambling is discussed. The scrambling is achieved by the simultaneous carrier frequency hopping at transmitter and receiver during the frame pulse. Experimental results have confirmed the possibility of providing TV group signal scrambling by means of the carrier frequency hopping.
