Abstract :
The design and construction of a new low cost homemade Mather type plasma focus facility (16 kV, 36 muf, and 115 nH) is reported for the first time in Iran. Three phase current sheath dynamic model (Lee model) is utilised and developed to obtain the main design parameters based upon some experimental results like the derive factor s=(Io/a)/radicrho (where Io,a, and rho are discharge current, anode radius, and filled gas density, respectively), current sheath velocity, and other scale parameters that result to occurrences of plasma pinch disruption at the first peak of discharge current that is essential for any coaxial gun plasma pinch generators.
