Abstract
The importance of analyzing the behavior of biological tissue when exposed to colored light has opened new insights into the medical field for diagnosis of various pathologies. This type of study is achieved with a computer controlled monochromator over the range 367-850 nm; near uv to near ir. The equipment consists of coupling convex lenses that focus a light source of intensity 7500 lumens to the slot of the monochromator. The monochromator has a resolution of 1 nm and a bandwidth of 10 nm. This equipment is being used as a slit lamp to determine changes in the pupillary behavior with respect to wavelength.
