Abstract :
Investigation and analysis of the present vehicle parking status and forecasting of its demand are the basic work for parking management and planning in medium and small urban. Optimizing resource deployment and reducing the running cost are the targets of traffic management in cities. Combining with a research project of traffic management and implementing scheme in Changping town, vehicle parking status and the existing problems in the central area were obtained. On the basis of comparative analysis of frequently-used parking demand forecasting models, and linked with the practical situation in the small urban, parking demand forecasting method was determined. An efficient forecasting result of present and planning years was obtained by the method.
