Abstract
This paper presents an overview of the technology and the physics and chemistry of the plasma physics associated with medical devices. Optical spectroscopy and electrical current-voltage measurements as well as calorimetry form the backbone of the experimental measurement techniques. Additional results from ICCD- based imaging and gas chromatography will also be presented. Modeling techniques, including finite element coupled physics, chemical kinetics, and molecular spectroscopy can be used to interpret the experimental measurements and further our understanding the plasma environment.
