Abstract :
High frequency communication schemes perform analog signal processing using RF filters. Micro-strip filters are the most economical way of RF front end signal filtering, by straining out interference and by passing on the desired signal. This paper describes a filter designed on material used in practical circuit boards in devices using RF communication. Mobile communication systems front end is receiving parallel signals at a same time like that of GSM900, GSM1800, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, signal further encounter filters that pass on the desired ones, and distribute the signals accordingly. The filter designed and discussed allows GSM 1800/1900 to pass and stop all other bands to avoid intrusion. Interference caused due to the other signals received by front ends, as well as interferences due to harmonics are kept under consideration while designing. Filter has been designed using material FR4-epoxy, having relative permittivity of 4.7 with thickness 1.6mm using HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator). Designed filter has a pass-band from 1.1GHz to 2.2GHz rejecting lower and higher frequencies, which is further verified by fabricating and examination using network analyzer.
