Abstract :
In an antenna system, sidelobe levels play an important role in calculating power budget. An antenna system is considered to be good if it is having low sidelobe levels. Nulls are also very important parameter to cater interfering signals. There is possibility that an antenna element gets damaged due to which beam pattern is distorted in form of increased side lobes and nulls steered from their original position. In this paper a method based on hybrid computing using Genetic algorithm and Pattern search is proposed which will minimize sidelobes in failed antenna array and also steer a null in direction of known interference, while maintaining mainlobe towards the desired direction.
