Abstract
To further promote the study of the carbon sinks and the quantitative analysis of fixing carbon and releasing oxygen of Phyllostachys pubescens which was the principal bamboo species in subtropical area, diurnal variations net photosynthetic rate were measured using photosynthesis methods in this study. The results showed that: there were obvious differences in carbon fixation and oxygen release among months. The CO2-absorbing and O2-releasing per unit leaf area of P. pubescens belong to the middle level, while the net photosynthesis of the plant at the whole year was larger than other greenery. The main facts causing the different of Pn at different time scales was external temperature, intensity of illumination and other ecological factors, their own growth and development stages of P. pubescens, and the adaptation mechanism which changed as the external environment.
