Abstract
The Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO) is developing a High Level Architecture (HLA) for Modeling and Simulation (M&S). The KLA will be the enabling technology to allow the Air Force hierarchy of models to interoperate. Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), under contract with the Avionics Directorate of Wright Laboratory, participated in the DMSO-sponsored Engineering Protofederation Experiment during the last year. Will HLA adequately address the unique data, timing, and control problems of high-detail, high-fidelity engineering models? This paper will not only define the scope of the experiment, but also the results of this year-long experiment
