Abstract :
Lanthanum silicate coatings have been deposited by atmospheric plasma spraying using blended feedstock powders and precalcined hypereutectic feedstock powders, respectively. The microstructure and mechanical properties of a coating prepared from precalcined powders are evaluated and compared with those of a coating prepared from blended powders. The effects on the densification of the lanthanum silicate coatings also were discussed, where the higher densification coating was obtained only in the precalcined powder deposit.
