Abstract :
A set of measuring devices has been developed comprising an average power meter with enhanced level ranging (from +3 to -70 dB), an optical tester with an integrated optical radiation source, a power meter with advanced service capabilities and an ´optical probe´ to monitor the shape of optical signals. The principal specifications of the devices are listed. A flowchart of the basic design-the IT 1710 average power meter-is reviewed, its operating units, features of implemented functional subsystems and operational requirements are described.
