Abstract :
The paper shows the need to transmit extra assistance data in hybrid location systems. The proposal presented here uses the current network protocols in order to deliver these non-standardized assistance data in 2G/2.5G location systems. To this end, a complete analysis of the available protocols and methods of identifying a non-standard assistance data source is performed.
