Abstract :
In order to introduce a new numerical method based on wavelet analysis for solution of Navier-Stokes(NS) equations which has lots of application in the fields of Ocean and Navigation, for the steady viscous fluid flow in parallel-plate, the fourth-order B spline wavelet scaling functions are used to solve the two-dimensional steady Navier-Stokes(NS) equations. Calculating results show that the numerical method has very high precision. The calculations from a case history indicate that the method provides high accuracy and the computational efficiency is enhanced due to the preferable approached ability of wavelet and the small matrix derived from this method. It will provide the experience for subsequent solution of the unsteady Navier-Stokes equation and incompressible Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations.
