Abstract :
The disinfection efficiency of Cl2 and ClO2 on water purification was compared. The result showed that with the same dosage, ClO2 had better bactericidal efficiency than Cl2 and produced less trihalomethane compounds than Cl2. ClO2 disinfection has the advantages of high efficiency and safety in use. ClO2 was suggested as a new disinfectant in supply water treatment.
