  • Abstract
In the early sixties of the last century the rapid development of space communications, satellite television broadcasting, radio astronomy and new types of weapon required the development and manufacturing of ultra-sensitive (low-noise) systems and devices for microwave frequency range. These were the reasons for foundation of special company named Saturn, which could focus on such problems. To supply the demands of Saturn in product manufacturing the plant was created in Kiev in 1972. The main products were "Ekran" and "Eldorado" systems. The experimental plant supplied the main enterprise with new microwave devices. More than ten types of low-noise devices appear every year. Nowadays the collaborators of "Saturn" are mainly well educated, and highly qualified. The current company development is concentrated on spreading the frequency range other millimeter waves and design of civil apparatuses for these bands.
