Abstract :
Spectrum scrambling scheme of On-Off-Keying modulated Ultra-Wideband Impulse Radio signals employing a high-speed optical 2×2 switch is experimentally demonstrated for radiation power enhancement under severe restriction by the FCC spectrum mask. The measured eye diagrams, the FFT spectra calculated by a digital sampling oscilloscope, the RF spectra measured by an electrical RF spectrum analyzer are shown. The observed RF spectra fit well with the theoretically predicted ones, and the unwanted discrete components, which are the cause of the radiation power limitation, can be vanished, thus the radiation power can be enhanced up to 16dB/MHz.
