Abstract
Grids allow people to collaborate and share resources as well as data on a common informatics infrastructure over the Internet. Currently, gLite, a very extended grid middleware, runs over Linux based systems of many research institutes dispersed in Europe. This article introduces our Grid2Win project that deals with the porting of gLite to Windows platforms. At the moment of this writing we ported the UI, and built a GUI on it, and the Torque/MAUI based CE. On top of all, we integrated the first native Windows batch system, the Microsoft Compute Cluster Server (CCS), into the gLite middleware.
