Abstract
This article describes a research carried out with specialists in Software Quality to identify the required abilities and define the most adequate behavioral profile for the professional in the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) area.The main result is a model that characterizes the behavioral profile of the SQA professional at each maturity level of software development process. Furthermore, it is shown that the required abilities of the SQA professional change as the process maturity evolve. These results help to improve the processes of allocation and development of professionals in the Software Quality Assurance area.
