Abstract :
Aircraft ESD and related data were measured in the cabin environment through all flight phases. Ultra low humidity of around 10% during the flight was observed. Most metal objects were charged to kilovolts. Low air-pressure cabin conditions, such as the observed 800-mbar, boosts the occurrence of low-voltage ESD events. Some ESD/EMI control methods based on the cavity Q factor analysis method are presented.
