Abstract
On the basis of summarizing Tengzhou coalfield stratigraphic structure, we analyze the stratigraphic sequence of the coalfield Carboniferous-Permian coal-bearing strata and study the sulfur distribution characteristics of Taiyuan Formation 17th, 16th and the lower 12th coal seams as well as Shanxi lower and upper 3th coal seams, obtaining the vertical and lateral evolutions of sulfur content in each seam. Based on the theory of sequence stratigraphy, the causes of the variation and the reasons why sulfur content in Taiyuan group is generally higher than that in Shanxi coal seams are also explained.
