Abstract :
Positioning accuracy is typically evaluated assuming that measurement errors are identically Gaussian distributed zero-mean and uncorrelated. For these conditions, Geometrical Dilution Of Precision (GDOP) alone is typically used as a satellite selection criterion. However, this is an idealization that leads to suboptimal results. Under this assumption, a satellite selection method based on convex geometry theory was proposed by the authors elsewhere. A modification of the mentioned satellite selection algorithm is proposed here, where the impact of different measurement errors is considered for the selection computation.
