Abstract :
Confronted with economic crisis and fierce competition nowadays, world oil companies pay more attention to the managements and redundancy of human resources. Hence it is of vital importance to study further about the optimization of personnel and determine the most rational number of staff in oil companies in order to lessen the overheads and meet the demand for talents. A regression model for employees in oil companies is constructed to study the relationship between the number of employees and other operational indices. Then relevant comparisons between Chinese and foreign oil companies are made to find out the existing problems, which can provide a theoretical foundation for the petroleum companies in China.
