Abstract :
This paper presents the results of an international inter-comparison of space solar cell performance calibrations and measurements. The inter-comparison, which was organized and operated under the auspices of the space agencies of Japan, the United States, Europe and China, was accomplished by circulating 2 sample sets of 12 space solar cells each. One set consisted of two Si and two GaAs cells from the United States, two Si and two GaAs cells from Europe, and four Si cells from Japan, for which the temperature coefficient and spectral response were measured. The second set of 12 cells was similar to the first, except that each cell was mounted in a solar cell holder. Current-voltage characteristics and spectral response were measured for each cell. The measurement conditions for determining temperature coefficient and spectral response were determined by each agency in accordance with their standard practices. I-V curves were measured by each agency using the AM0 standard value of 136.7 mW/cm2 and a cell temperature of 25°C
