Abstract :
In this paper we consider the effects of handover in LEO and MEO systems on data packet services. In particular, we investigate by simulation the application of packet communications to non GEO satellite networks, we discuss a MAC protocol for handover and non handover calls within a satellite footprint and simulate its performance for E-mail traffic.
