  • Abstract
It has been shown recently that high-T/sub c/ superconductors are, by virtue of their layered crystal structure, a natural series array of atomic scale Josephson junctions. Do such intrinsic Josephson arrays have a future as voltage standards? This question is discussed in relation to experiments on the high-T/sub c/ superconductor Bi/sub 2/Sr/sub 2/CaCu/sub 2/O/sub x/ (Bi-2212).
