Abstract :
The purification of phosphate contained the secondary effluent of wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) by fly ash was investigated. The effect of pH, adsorbent dosage, and reaction time on purification efficiency was determined. The results showed that the phosphate the removal rate would increase to 83.3% when the adsorbent dosage was 5 g per 100 ml, the pH was neutral, and the reaction time was 4 h. The kinetics of phosphate on fly ash fitted pseudo-second-order kinetic plot and the adsorption process belongs to chemisorption. After phosphorus removal by fly ash, the reclaimed water fully meets the first level A criteria specified in the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for WWTP (GB 18918-2002).
