Abstract :
This paper presents a web-based remote finite element analysis simulation system and framework (R-FEAS) for sharing and reusing legacy FEA software on the Internet, through which the analysis of physical fields of electrical equipment can be performed from a distance. R-FEAS is built on a three-tier client-server architecture with Java applets and servlets technology. General Web-enabling technologies are discussed for wrapping the legacy FEA codes. To deploy three-dimensional (3D) FEA results on the Web, this paper also proposes a simple algorithm for the presentation of 3D color contours of FEA results in VRML format. A well-known FEA software, ANSYS, is used in the authors´ current prototype.
