Abstract :
Proximate device discovery is a critical function in a device-to-device (D2D) network for LTE-Advanced. In this paper, to tackle the practical issues in device discovery, we study the radio resource allocation and reusing scheme, and the time hopping method in a network coverage scenario. We propose three resources allocation schemes and prove that only two device discovery periods are needed by using the proposed approach. In the dense deployment scenario, we devise an effective resource reusing mechanism to avoid local collisions. Simulations verify that our schemes outperform the traditional methods by considering the discovery ratio and collision probability.
