  • Abstract
    The paper discusses the intrinsic connotation of new media; it expresses the view that traditional media provides a foundation for the emergence and development of new media, while new media is an ascent & expansion form on the basis of traditional media; the paper points out that new media possesses technology-oriented, intensive, boundless, widespread, updated & upgraded characteristic as well as the salient features of digitization, networking pattern, interlinking dissemination, quick penetration, environmental protection & energy saving, and so on; it also envisages the increasingly broad space-time spheres of new media. From the perspective of development trends, the good nurturing environment of new media will greatly promote its growth and development in China, which will help to realize resources complementation and construct a new pattern of innovation & development.
