Abstract :
This paper presents a novel active power filter using three-multilevel converter with self-voltage balancing. The multilevel converter can make each component´s voltage stress 1 V DC, and all voltage levels are self-balancing through clamping switching and clamping diodes. By simulation, as a result, the three-multilevel diode-clamping-converter may work without active control of the clamping-capacitor-voltage. This possibility enables a significant reduction of the control complexity.
