  • Abstract
Blade is the key component to capture wind energy. It plays a vital role in the whole wind turbine. In this paper, Ply design and intensity analysis are conducted with layered shell elements to treat a composite vertical axis wind turbine blade based on ANSYS. The results show that the ply design meets the requirements of intensity and stiffness. The methods applied in this paper can be used as a reference for other similar cases.
